The Gondwana Rainforests of Australia include the most extensive areas of subtropical rainforest in the world, extending from south-east of Queensland to almost Newcastle.

These Australian rainforests are World Heritage-listed, thriving with plants and wildlife, and are an outstanding example of the major stages of Earth’s evolution.

Located an hour from Gloucester, the Barrington Tops is a must to visit.

Located 18 kilometres West of Gloucester, Copeland has short walks and feature the Mountain Maid Mine which is considered to be of potential state heritage significance for its history as an operating goldmine between 1876 and 1979, making it one of the longest continually operating goldmines in New South Wales. 

Gloucester Tops is a wonderful alternative to the Barrington Tops and has some great walks and breath taking waterfalls.

Located on the outskirts of Gloucester, just a couple of minutes from The Great Escape Lofts.

 Access the start of the trail via Bucketts Rd which is off Thunderbolts Way just after the Gloucester River bridge. The path is easy to follow and it leads you to many “lookout” spots. A complete loop will take you less than 2 hrs, it is best when there is low light in the morning or afternoon. 

We have two magnificent lookouts minutes from Gloucester.

Mograni Lookout -  5 minutes east of Gloucester on the Bucketts Way 

Kia Ora Lookout -  Drive on the Thunderbolts Way towards Barrington. Turn right at Bowman farm Rd and and following lookout signs, cross the Barrington River, turn right onto Kia-ora Rd and then sharp left onto lookout road.

Both lookouts provide panoramic views of the Gloucester valley.
